Pirates of the Caribbean on guitar
it’s somewhere out in the country… but nobody’s sure where
Pirates of the Caribbean on guitar
I said to the man, who stood
at the gate of the year
Give me a light that I may
tread safely into the unknown’
And he replied’ Go out into the
darkness and put your hand into
the hand of God. That shall be to
you better than light and safer than a known
Way’ So I went forth, and finding the
Hand of God, trod gladly into the night.*
And He led me towards the hills
and the breaking of day in the lone East.
So heart be still
What need our little life
Our human life to know,
If God hath comprehension?
In all the dizzy strife
Of things both high and low,
God hideth his intention.
God Knows. His will
Is best. The stretch of years
Which wind ahead, so dim
To our imperfect vision,
Are clear to God, Our fears
Are premature; In Him
All time hath full provision.
Then rest; until
God moves to lift the veil
From our impatient eyes,
When, as the sweeter features
Of life’s stern face we hail,
Fair beyond all surmise
God’s thought around His creatures
Our minds shall fill.

“The Dangerous Book for Boys” by Conn & Hal Iggulden is a book written for boys of all ages. Written in the style of Victorian boys literature and published in snazzy red cloth binding with gold lettering it addresses such essential issues as: how to navigate, how to build a lighthouse, the 7 ancient wonders of the world, 5 poems every boy should know, juggling, astronomy, timers and tripwires, fishing, the 10 commandments, first aid, knots, dog tricks, tanning an animal skin… and many other essentials. Among the many jewels is the following, “if you see a girl in need of help - unable to lift something, for example - do not taunt her [as if I’d do that :)]. Approach the object and greet her with a cheerful smile, whilst surreptitiously testing the weight of the object. If you find you can lift it, go ahead. If you can’t, try sitting on it and engaging her in conversation.”
My neuroanatomy has always been a bit shaky. This is partly due to the worst named book in my bookcase: “Liebman’s Neuroanatomy Made Easy and Understandable”
However, Pinky and the Brain have come to my rescue with this little video:
Combining skiing and parachuting has to one of the funnest looking things I’ve ever seen… not sure if I’d still be in one piece at the bottom however!
